burp cloths

A few years ago there was a teacher at my school who made the cutest burp cloths for a baby shower and I thought I would look for a something similar on pinterest to make and of course I found so many ideas. So then I got excited...I bought fabrics from Ben Franklin and cloth diapers from Target, then I asked my mom if she would do the sewing for me. I love that my mom can sew I wish that I could sew like her, there are so many things that I think about making and she is always willing to do it.
I cut all of the fabrics and planned for all of the details. I was so excited when I figured out how to make that cute little flower. All you have to do is cut 5 circles, fold them twice and iron down, then tact them together and add the button. So cute. :) The rectangular ones are made with fabrics and cloth diapers, the others are terry cloth and flannel, I saw this idea when I was at Ben Franklin shopping for the fabrics.

These are a gift I put together for my dearest friend Mindy (who is also having twins). I saw this blanket pattern at Ben Franklin and thought it was so cute, so mom helped me sew that too. The outer fabric is minkey and the inside is a flannel, it is so soft. She isn't finding out what she is having so I thought these were cute colors that could go either way. She loved them. :)

Mindy's daughter Hadley is our god daughter and since she is going to be a big sister to twins I couldn't resist and had to get something for her to help make her feel extra special. I thought that a "Big Sister Survival Bag" was the perfect idea. My mom did the embroidery on the bag and shirt and my dad asked while we were working on the project...."How did you think of that idea?" And I actually thought of this one on my own...funny thing....I used to get these ideas all of the time but now there is pinterest and it's just so much easier than thinking of it on my own...but I am still creative all on my own sometimes. :)

I found this cute bag at Michael's and the cute little outfit and survival goodies at Target. I used the shorts to decide the colors of the shirt and bag embroidery. My mom has an embroidery business and so she of course helped with this project. I added another one of those cute flowers to the bag with some ric rac. I think they turned out so cute. I just love that my mom is so talented.

Haddie loved all of her gifts...played with them all, wore all her hair bows, and clothes that night.
She is so cute...she will be a great big sister. :) She will be the ring leader for all 4 babies (Mindy's and mine). :)

28 weeks

I had another Doctors appointment last week and everything is still going great. I did find out that baby B's placenta is on top of him so that's why I'm not feeling him move like I feel baby A.

I also had my first shower. It was so nice. I can't wait to post all of those pictures. It was so fun to start getting all of the things that I will need. It makes it start to feel so real.  I'm so anxious to start setting up a nursery. I've been drawing pictures of my ideas and Richie laughs at me....well that's the closest I can get right now. :) Only 4-6 more weeks and we should be in the house...and 10 weeks or less for babies to arrive. Yay!

house update

Things are happening so quickly now and it's been a while since I've posted pictures. We've been buying things like crazy it feels like. We ordered our couch today (that will arrive in August geesh :)), door knobs chandeliers, our surface mounts, outdoor lights (working on the rest), deck post caps, stone, I got my powder room mirror in the mail and it goes on and on....oh and I think I finally have my marble picked out...what a task.
We have a painted house...love the color...can't wait for the stone.

Love my barn lights...outside on the main deck.

Lights next to the garage. :)

The decks are finished they look so nice and are so large. :) Love the white railing...waiting to get the post caps still. This is the main deck, and the area where we will later add stairs down to the lower deck.

View from the other side of the main deck.

We have power and lights. SO cool. Walls have also been painted. They are a grey color. At first it looked a little blue to us, its so hard to tell with nothing else in the house yet. I think I'm getting used to it now though.

Floor tile for kids bath....oh I LOVE this. :)

Kids bath

Drawing on the wall in kids bath for the tile guys. :) (No I didn't do this but doesn't it look like something I would do?!)

LOVE

Laundry room floor...looks so good.

Getting ready for tile in the master bath.

Master bath drawing.

Tile for the floor of the master shower and border on master floor. Oh SO pretty.

Master bath floor...this is the same as the in the laundry....I love the look of the large tiles.

Powder room.

Cararra Hex tiles for the floor of the powder room shower.

The sewer work is done, not without the neighbor calling the police though because some of her blackberry bushes were cleared out....oh gosh that was an interesting evening. Hopefully nothing comes of it. It leaves a bad feeling in your stomach though to know your neighbor is that neighbor and now you are on bad terms....hopefully things will be fine. I'm more worried about her mean girl teenage daughters...I couldn't believe them.

Lower deck.

Lower deck.

Lower deck covered area and Richie. I think I have to stop calling him Richie now that I'm going to have a baby called Richie pretty soon. Weird.

And another one of the lower deck. Can't get enough.

Here you can see the paint and the areas where there will be wainscotting.

The dining room...you can see the hardwood stacked. That will be installed soon.

And....guess what...more deck pictures. :) This is the upper deck off the master.

Upper deck again.

The entry way. They are close to pouring the retaining wall and stairs down and driveway....that will change the look so much.

And finally all 22 of our very tall doors.

So many fun changes happening daily. We are getting closer and closer.
On my to do list for this week...
* finish picking out and buy lights
* finalize marble counters
* cabinet pulls
* wall paper for powder
I think that's it but I'm sure there are many other things I'm not thinking of.
