burp cloths

A few years ago there was a teacher at my school who made the cutest burp cloths for a baby shower and I thought I would look for a something similar on pinterest to make and of course I found so many ideas. So then I got excited...I bought fabrics from Ben Franklin and cloth diapers from Target, then I asked my mom if she would do the sewing for me. I love that my mom can sew I wish that I could sew like her, there are so many things that I think about making and she is always willing to do it.
I cut all of the fabrics and planned for all of the details. I was so excited when I figured out how to make that cute little flower. All you have to do is cut 5 circles, fold them twice and iron down, then tact them together and add the button. So cute. :) The rectangular ones are made with fabrics and cloth diapers, the others are terry cloth and flannel, I saw this idea when I was at Ben Franklin shopping for the fabrics.

These are a gift I put together for my dearest friend Mindy (who is also having twins). I saw this blanket pattern at Ben Franklin and thought it was so cute, so mom helped me sew that too. The outer fabric is minkey and the inside is a flannel, it is so soft. She isn't finding out what she is having so I thought these were cute colors that could go either way. She loved them. :)

Mindy's daughter Hadley is our god daughter and since she is going to be a big sister to twins I couldn't resist and had to get something for her to help make her feel extra special. I thought that a "Big Sister Survival Bag" was the perfect idea. My mom did the embroidery on the bag and shirt and my dad asked while we were working on the project...."How did you think of that idea?" And I actually thought of this one on my own...funny thing....I used to get these ideas all of the time but now there is pinterest and it's just so much easier than thinking of it on my own...but I am still creative all on my own sometimes. :)

I found this cute bag at Michael's and the cute little outfit and survival goodies at Target. I used the shorts to decide the colors of the shirt and bag embroidery. My mom has an embroidery business and so she of course helped with this project. I added another one of those cute flowers to the bag with some ric rac. I think they turned out so cute. I just love that my mom is so talented.

Haddie loved all of her gifts...played with them all, wore all her hair bows, and clothes that night.
She is so cute...she will be a great big sister. :) She will be the ring leader for all 4 babies (Mindy's and mine). :)
